What's this?

I just got an email offering me a review copy of a novel about (I think) the nexus of the religous and political right. Obviously in the hope that I'd be interested in reviewing or promoting it somehow here at DJB.

And I thought that there were loads of sites by blasphemous atheists out there.

I wanted to be flattered. I looked further. Not an A-list, by any means, but it's a real book. OK, Amazon.com Sales Rank: #503,044. Oh, and it's from a vanity press.

Think I'll pass.

Now, I'm sure that lot's of authors have to start out with alternative publishers, and I'm not mocking all the hard work that that an author with even a big press has do on his own to promote his book. That's why I'm leaving out the details.

Just, no thanks, and best of luck. It really isn't what this blog is about.
