Less is the matter with Kansas

The primary election for the Kansas State Board of Education was yesterday, and it appears that the balance of the board will now be shifted 6-4 in favor of science and against Intelligent Design creationism.

Recall that in 2005, the State Board standards for science education

• Changed the definition of science to include supernatural causes.
• Defined evolution to imply that evolution conflicts with belief in god.
• Added phony criticisms of evolution.

Last year, now-defeated member Connie Morris said this:

In short, Darwin's theory of evolution is biologically, genetically, mathematically, chemically, metaphysically and etc. "wildly" and "utterly impossible."

It was Kansas that inspired the founding of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. FSM church belief requires the wearing of His chosen outfit, pirate regalia.
