Spam

I just got a mess of comment spam, just like a real blog! These are boilerplate messages like "great blog" or "where did you find your guestbook script?" with a link to some website the robot is promoting. I think this is to drive up the site's Google rank.

Though a link from here is hardly going to help anyone else's rank, unless I feature more about invertebrate penises (there is another unfinished one in the hopper) and drive up my own traffic.

Anyway, it was a particular annoyance since I get an email copy of each comment. I cleaned them out and I'm thinking about turning on graphic word-verification if it happens again.
